About the Event

It  is a common belief that you need to live deep in the countryside to  enjoy foraging, but once you start to look closer  at the small pockets of green spaces hiding in plain sight around towns and cities, you’ll  wonder why you never saw it all before!

Come along to a Foraging and Folklore workshop and not only explore the wonderful abundance of wild edibles, but learn of their traditional uses and listen to the many tales of magic, witchcraft and superstition which have become woven around them over time.

- What to Expect -

🌱Learn how to correctly identify around ten wild edibles, which could include a mixture of plants, flowers, trees and mushrooms.

🌱How to forage safely, sustainably and within the law.

🌱How to use wild food in the kitchen, including tips on how to prepare, store and preserve them and make the most of your harvest.

🌱Folklore tales and superstitions associated with the plants and fungi that we come across.

🌱The magic of fairy rings, what is believed to cause them and how they are truly created.

- What to Bring -

Please dress for the unpredicatable British weather, and wear whatever footwear you feel comfortable in.

Feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you want to take notes along the way.
