Foraging and Herbal Medicine at Cambois

Explore the incredible abundance of medicinal herbs, as we walk along the wild and beautiful Northumberland coast, between the River Blyth and Wansbeck. We'll be exploring how wild herbs can be used to treat common Winter ailments, as well as how they can be used to promote our general health and wellbeing. This is an in-depth workshop designed for complete beginners who are looking for an introduction to wild medicinal herbs.

- What to Expect -

🌱We'll look at foraging basics, how to research and identify wild herbs, how to find find them and best practices for gathering.

🌱You'll learn how to forage safely, sustainably and within the law, and understand why it's important.

🌱You will learn how to correctly identify around 20 wild medicinal herbs.

🌱We'll look at the medicinal benefits of the wild herbs we come across and why its important to know your own body.

🌱You'll learn about a few of the ways which herbs can be prepared and applied, as well as how to store herbs for long term storage.

🌱 You'll develop an understanding of how to use some of these herbs to treat common ailments like coughs, colds, aches and pains.

- What to Bring -

Please dress for the unpredicatable British weather, and wear whatever footwear you feel comfortable in.

At this time of year, please expect the paths to be muddy.

Feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you want to take notes along the way.

- Accessibility -

This route is mostly level but does take us off the main path and over sand dunes. There are three car parks nearby which are free to use. There are no public toilet facilities. If you have any accesibilty requirements  I ask that you can please get in touch before booking just to make sure that this route is right for you.
