Friends of Valley Park Summer Fete Foraging Walk 11am

Come along to a Wild Food Foraging Walk and explore the incredible abundance of wild edibles, as we take a walk through Valley Park, an extensive area of woodland, meadow and hedgerows to gather the abundance of the season. 

This event is planned as part of the Friends of Valley Park Summer Fete and has been subsidised by the group for the community to attend as part of the activities for the event. 

- What to Expect -

🌱You will learn how to correctly identify wild edibles, which can include flowers, fruits, foliage and fungi.

🌱How to forage safely and within the law.

🌱How to act sustainably when out and about.

🌱How to use wild food in the kitchen, including tips on how to prepare, store and preserve them and make the most of your harvest.

🌱We'll also look at the medicinal and nutritional benefits of the wild edibles we come across.

- What to Bring -

Please dress for the unpredicatable British weather, and wear whatever footwear you feel comfortable in. 

Feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you want to take notes along the way.

- Accessibility -

This route is  over level ground, some of which is paved but the route does venture off the path. There are no public toilet facilities available within the woods. If you have any accesibilty requirements I ask that you can please get in touch before booking just to make sure that this route is right for you.
