About the Event
Come along to a Mushroom Foraging and Identification Walk and discover the incredible abundance of wild mushrooms and fungi which fruit at this time of year.
- What to Expect -
🌱We'll be walking through ancient woodland looking for fungi as we go.
🌱You will learn how to identify wild fungi using several different tools and methods. Expect to find both edible and inedible fungi on the day.
🌱How to forage for mushrooms safely and within the law.
🌱How to act sustainably when out and about.
🌱 You will discover the importance of tree identification when it comes to foraging for mushrooms and learn about their symbiotic relationship.
🌱We'll also be sharing about tips and tricks for harvesting and how to preserve your harvest.
- What to Bring -
Please dress for the unpredictable British weather, and wear whatever footwear you feel comfortable in.
Feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you want to take notes along the way.
- Accessibility -
This route is through woodland and fields and the paths can be mudding and difficult in places. There is plenty of free parking available at Attlee Park. There are no toilet facilities available nearby. If you have any accessibility requirements I ask that you can please get in touch before booking just to make sure that this route is right for you.
- Extra Information -
This is an adult only event as spaces are strictly limited on this particular walk.
The exact location of this walk will only be given out to attendees, but it will be in the South Northumberland area near Bedlington.
