About the Event

It  is a common belief that you need to live deep in the countryside to  enjoy foraging, but once you start to look closer  at the small pockets of green spaces hiding in plain sight around towns and cities, you’ll  wonder why you never saw it all before!

Come along to a Wild Food Foraging Walk and explore the incredible abundance of wild edibles, as we take a walk through Hebburn Riverside Park - an area of extensive parkland, meadows and woodland.

- What to Expect -

🌱You will learn how to correctly identify wild edibles, which can include flowers, fruits, foliage and fungi.

🌱How to forage safely and within the law.

🌱How to act sustainably when out and about.

🌱How to use wild food in the kitchen, including tips on how to prepare, store and preserve them and make the most of your harvest.

🌱We'll also look at the medicinal and nutritional benefits of the wild edibles we come across.

- What to Bring -

Please dress for the unpredicatable British weather, and wear whatever footwear you feel comfortable in.

Feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you want to take notes along the way.

- Accessibility -

This particular route is through a park where they path is paved. There is on parking available within the park, and the park is accessible via a short walk from the local Metro Station at Hebburn. There are no public toilet facilities available at the park. If you have any accesibilty requirements  I ask that you can please get in touch before booking just to make sure that this route is right for you.
