Wild Garlic Planting Workshop

Have you ever wondered if you could grow wild edibles at home? Wild Garlic is one of Spring's most highly sought after herbs, and with the right conditions, its incredible easy to grow in a garden or allotment. Come along and learn how to cultivate this delicious herb at home, and plant up your own Wild Garlic pot to take home and nurture, ready for harvesting the following Spring.

- What to Expect -

🌱You will learn how to correctly identify Wild Garlic

🌱How to forage safely and within the law.

🌱How to act sustainably and the importance of sustainable practices

🌱How to cultivate Wild Garlic at home and understand the conditions it needs to flourish.

🌱We'll discuss how to make the most of your harvest in the kitchen and how best to preserve it too.

🌱We'll also cover some of the toxic lookalike plants which can be found growing alongside Wild Garlic and how to tell them apart.

  This workshop is funded by Cramlington Town Council.

- What to Bring -

Please dress for the unpredicatable British weather, and wear whatever footwear you feel comfortable in. Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, and bring gardening gloves if you prefer to wear them.

Feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you want to take notes along the way home with you.

All other materials and tools will be provided.
