About the Event
Come along to Wild Garlic Walk and learn how to forage for this wonderfully delicious and versatile plant, as we take a walk through Attlee Park, down into the woods and along the River Blyth. Wild Garlic is an easy to identify plant which can grow in great abundance making it the perfect wild edible for beginner foragers.
- What to Expect -
🌱You will learn how to correctly identify Wild Garlic
🌱How to forage safely and within the law.
🌱How to act sustainably and the importance of sustainable practices
🌱How to to make the most of your Wild Garlic harvest, how to prepare, store and preserve it to make it last the whole year through.
🌱We'll also look some of the toxic lookalike plants which can be found growing alongside Wild Garlic and how to tell them apart.
- What to Bring -
Please dress for the unpredicatable British weather, and wear whatever footwear you feel comfortable in.
Feel free to bring a notepad and pen if you want to take notes along the way, as well as a small container to take some Wild Garlic home with you.
- Accessibility -
This route is through woodland and along the river, the paths can be uneven, narrow and very muddy. There is general parking available at the park, and the park is accessible via local bus routes. There are no public facilities at the park, but they are available along Bedlington high street. If you have any accesibilty requirements I ask that you can please get in touch before booking just to make sure that this route is right for you.

Tickets are strictly limited for Wild Garlic Walks for sustainability reasons.
Children under the age of 14 are free to attend the Wild Garlic Walk so long as they come along with a paying adult and free ticket spaces are available.
